Where to Stay in Rome Italy

There are many Bed and Breakfasts in Rome from which to choose. To narrow down the selection, consider the variety of Rome neighborhoods and areas...each has its own advantages and disadvantages.

In my opinion the most desirable area to stay is Central Rome, especially the old city neighborhood with its charm and the fact that you can walk to most sightseeing in Rome. A central Rome Bed and Breakfast will probably be more expensive.

You can't beat Central Rome Bed and Breakfasts for convenience and ambiance....especially the historic old center near the Pantheon and Trevi Fountain. You will probably pay more to stay in this area.

• Al Centro di Roma B&B is in a fantastic location near the Piazza Navona and Campo de Fiori. The owners are not on sight and breakfast is at a cafe across the street. "delightfully charming and very clean room"
• Baldassini B&B is in my favorite area of Rome... 2 blocks from the Pantheon. It has clean, quiet and comfortable rooms. "delicious breakfast, which included toast, jam, butter, cereal, fruit, juice, tea, coffee, cured ham, cheese, eggs and bacon"
• In a great location near Piazza Navona, La Maison dell Orologio B&B is "very small, but very well kept" and has friendly staff.
• The Palazzo del Duca Bed and Breakfast Rome is in a palace that dates back 5 centuries. The rooms are nice and the "the neighborhood is attractive, trendy, with a lot of bars and dining".

If you plan on spending a lot of time at the Vatican Museums or you just would like to stay in the Spiritual heart of Rome, consider a Vatican City B&B. You will be a little further from the rest of the Rome attractions so you will do more walking or plan on using the Rome Metro.

Trastevere is a unique, charming old area or Rome with many restaurants and lots of activity at night. Be aware that it is further away from many of the Rome attractions so you will be walking more if you stay in this area.

• Arco del Laro B&B has "clean and simple rooms" and is close to all of the restaurants and charm of Trastevere.
• Il Boom Bed and Breakfast has "large, clean and very trendy bedrooms.....terraces afford spectacular views" and the host is very helpful. The B&B is up a few flights of stairs (there is no elevator), it is on a hill and you will probably walk a lot if you stay here.
