What a perfect location! I recently stayed at Hotel Smeraldo for three nights. I wanted to stay near Campo di Fiori and I was well within walking distance. I stayed here the first week of September 2010. The hotel is located on Vicolo dei Chiodaroli,9 in Rome,Italy. It is a few blocks the beautiful Campo di Fuori.
I loved the hotel's location. It was on a cute side street that was full of life in the daytime. There were people taking strolls and the sound of nearby churchbells. I also liked the location because it was right across the way from a cafe where you could get croissants and coffee in the mornings.
I liked the security of the hotel. It had a camera outside that would let you in upon recognition of you. I liked the cleanliness of the rooms. The maid there went out of her way to keep it very clean. The bathrooms were also very spacious.
I was a single traveler and this place was very safe and sufficient for my travels. The public rooms were great. There was an area to hold your luggage. There was also a vending machine for late night cravings. There was also computers that could be used for a fee which was very convenient late at night.
I paid $110 per night. This was reasonable due to the prime location. I can recommended it for all travelers. Since this area of Rome can be pricey, I believe this place is a little gem around a beautiful part of Rome and it is not to be passed up.
