Review of Villa Rosa in Rome

Villa Rosa Rome Hotel was fantastic not only because of its prices, but also because of its location. I stayed at the hotel two years ago when I traveled to Rome on a short Study Abroad Program and was very impressed by it.

Villa Rosa Roma Hotel is located at Via Giovanni Prati 1, right in the heart of Trastevere. It is literally minutes walking distance from the train station that can take you throughout all of Rome, as well as the 8 street train that will take you all the way up to the Pantheon and the Trevi Fountain.

Perhaps the greatest part about staying in Trastevere Rome was the lack of tourists. Most tourists stay closer to the center of Rome, so the shops and restaurants there are targeted to take advantage of them. In Trastevere, you get a taste of what Rome is all about.

The Albergo Villa Rosa Roma was unbelievably accommodating as well. The lobby was spacious and beautiful with a full bar which also served fantastic espresso. The rooms themselves were not cramped like I had heard Italian hotels to be. I roomed with another student on the trip and we had plenty of space to move around. There was a fairly large bathroom, although the shower was smaller than the showers in American hotels. There were two full size beds in the room with a large dresser, mirror, and television set, just like any double American hotel. It was very clean and well maintained. The room we were in was 65 euro per night, so we split the cost down the middle, making it very affordable. We also went in the middle of August, and I would like to report that the air conditioning in the room worked fantastically.

One of my favorite parts of the hotel, though was the patio that was outside. Overlooking the bustling streets of Rome, surrounded by exotic potted plants, and sipping on an espresso, I found great inspiration just sitting out there and smelling the beautiful air. For a college student, this hotel was perfect, as it would be for a few friends or especially for a couple. I did not see the larger rooms and therefore do not know how well it would be for a family, but if they booked two rooms, I'm sure the Villa Rosa Trastevere would be perfect.
