Looking for a Vatican City tour for your Rome vacation?

The Vatican City has many things to see in a very concentrated area. A tour of the Vatican City is a good option if you only have a couple of days Rome, want to see the highlights and don't want to chance standing in long lines.

There are many different tour companies and tours of Vatican City from which to choose. Make sure and read carefully what each one includes and check out the reviews if there are any.

The tour you choose should include St. Peters Basilica, Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel at minimum. These are the must-sees in Vatican City.

Other options that could be included are Castel Sant’ Angelo and a Wednesday audience with the Pope.

Vatican City Tour Suggestions

• Vatican City Small Group Tour - This tour includes a local expert guide and a minium of 5 and maximum of 12 tourists
• One day Vatican and Catacombs Tour - Full day tour of Vatican City plus the catacombs, Holy Stairs and St. John in Lateran.
• Luxury Vatican Tour Plus.... - Private Tour of Vatican plus either St. Peters & St. Angelo, a food tasting tour or walking tour of charming Trastevere.
• Wednesday Audience with the Pope - This is a good add-on or option to combine with other Rome tours.

Please realize that the Vatican Museums are enormous and filled with treasures. It could take days and even weeks to see everything.

A visitor will only get a taste of the Museums in a few hours, so I don't recommend these combination tours if you have more time. Instead consider a separate Vatican Museum tour and check out St. Peter's on your own or on the Wednesday Audience tour.
